The Family & Friends Concert at The Picnic!

Dr. Robert (Bobby) Owsley Hawkins ('56), close friend of both bride and groom, was brilliant as ConcertMaster!! Ralph Freeman, Atlanta Christian vocalist and recording artist, wowed the guests with a "Great Day" Medley!! "Mr. Cellophane" himself ... you just don't get it any better than from Wendell Barnes from Rome, GA!!! Karen Beneda, beautifully accompanied by Bruce Brownlow, touched a romantic spark with the favorite ... "Misty"!

Jean Carmichael, performed Grieg's, "I Love Thee" with a moving interpretation. David Hay, Columbus, GA, gave just about the smoothest rendition of "What A Wonderful World" - Louis would have been impressed! Daughter Dianne touched many a heart as she sang the poignant "Sunrise, Sunset", and was moved to tears herself ...  ... looking at her proud mother!

Grands Sarah and Shaun Graham sang the romantic, "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge. Beverly, accompanying her Grands, doesn't need to look at the music (HA!) Oliver Lipsey, baritone extraordinaire, sings "Time In A Bottle" and "Cashmere Song" Ellynda Lipsey, senior pastor at St. Timothy, brought many to tears with "Climb Every Mountain"

Tommy and Beverly are entranced with the performers Lex McGhee pleased the guests with a special song ... "Georgia on My Mind", and then accompanied by his guitar, "The Difference Between A Man and A Woman" Walt Michels, long time professional soloist, fulfilled a request of the bride ... "The Spirit Song" Jeanneann Ratliff, member of the Atlanta Opera Chorus sang the moving spiritual, "Talk About A Child of Jesus."

Elgin Wells, popular Atlanta jazz musician, played his own composition written for his own wedding ... "A Winter's Passing" ... folks wanted more! The surprise hit was niece Jessi Wheelock and her dad, Jeff.  BLUEGRASS! And after a couple of crowd-pleasers, she sang a special love song especially for the bride and groom!  So the bride and groom, not to be outdone, sang ... "Abba Dabba Honeymoon" and announced ... "We're going to Disneyland!!!"
